
REGIONAL: Union Minister Bhagirath Choudhary Saturday visited Noklak district, Nagaland as part of a fortnightly visit by ministers to the North Eastern Region. He held discussions with departmental officers to review the district's developmental progress and announced the establishment of a Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) to enhance agricultural support.
The Deputy Commissioner provided an overview of local challenges, while officials briefed the Minister on ongoing and proposed agricultural projects. Choudhary addressed issues at the District Hospital concerning shortages and health concerns, and visited New Pangsha village the following day to emphasise the need for modern agricultural practices and improved farmer support.
He also raised concerns about crop damage assistance and community issues like drug abuse. The visit concluded with a security meeting at the International Trade Centre.
