Minister, officials, dignitaries graced the DIPR Conclave

REGIONAL, March 06, 2025: The Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) in Meghalaya organised a Conclave on “Emerging Trends in Public Communication - Redefining the Role of DIPR” Thursday at the State Convention Center in Shillong Thursday. The event was attended by Dr M Ampareen Lyngdoh, the IPR Minister, as the chief guest, Dr Shakil P Ahammed, the Additional Chief Secretary as the guest of honour and media dignitaries.

Other attendees included Vijay Kumar Mantri, the Commissioner & Secretary of IPR, BS Sohliya, the Secretary & Director of I&PR, and other DIPR officials. During the event, Dr Ampareen Lyngdoh, the IPR Minister, highlighted the crucial role of the DIPR in facilitating effective communication between the government and its citizens.

She stated, "The role of DIPR needs to be redefined.” In today’s fast-paced world, it is essential for the department to adapt to the changing dynamics of communication and ensure that government initiatives and schemes reach every citizen, regardless of their location.
