YVK celebrates international women's day at tribal village
Highlighting the spirit of women's empowerment and rural development

REGIONAL, March 08, 2025: Yuva Vikash Kendra (YVK) Saturday celebrated International Women's Day at Madhav Bari ADC Village in West Tripura highlighting the spirit of women's empowerment and rural development. The event was attended by prominent figures such as Diganta Kumar Das, Deputy General Manager of the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), Dr MB Devi, Scientist at Krishi Vigyan Kendra and Panchali Debbarma, Vice President of YVK.
Das highlighted the importance of financial inclusion and agricultural advancement in improving rural livelihoods, while Dr Devi encouraged women to participate in ongoing programs focused on agricultural development and rural progress. Megha Jain, Additional District Magistrate and Collector, West Tripura, praised the collective efforts of YVK in empowering rural women and recognized the tangible impact these programs have had on the community.
YVK's focus on empowering rural communities, especially women, was evident throughout the program, with officials like Sumita Debnath, Hema Chowdhury, Sukanta Sarkar, Sujoy Majumder, Birju Debbarma, Savior Debbarma, Sujana Debbarma, Archa Roy, and Majesh Debbarma actively participating. A special recognition ceremony was held to honor dedicated grassroots workers, such as Jharna Debbarma, Sova Debbarma, and Manisha Debbarma, for their outstanding contributions to village development and tireless efforts in implementing various initiatives for the betterment of their fellow villagers.
The event served as a reminder of the vital role women play in rural development and the importance of supporting initiatives that uplift their economic and social standing.
