India condemns S Jaishankar’s security breach in UK
UK said attempts to intimidate foreign dignitaries unacceptable

NATIONAL, March 06, 2025: India Thursday condemned a security breach that occurred during the visit of External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to the UK Thursday. A small group of pro-Khalistani protesters attempted to breach the security perimeter outside Chatham House, where Jaishankar had just completed a meeting with UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy.
The UK has also strongly condemned the incident stating that any attempts to intimidate, threaten or disrupt public events are "completely unacceptable." The Metropolitan Police acted swiftly to address the situation and the UK remains committed to ensuring the security of all diplomatic visitors in accordance with international obligations, it said.
This incident took place after Jaishankar's talks with UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, during which they discussed bilateral ties, including the re-launched Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations, as well as regional and global issues. While India acknowledges that it has a strong human rights record despite being the target of numerous expressions and campaigns on the subject.
