NATIONAL, March 07, 2025: The 5th International Virtual Conference got underway Friday on Artificial Intelligence in Interdisciplinary Studies hosted by Rajasthani Sammelan Education Trust's Deviprasad Goenka Management College of Media Studies in Mumbai discussed AI's transformative role in sustainable development.
Dr Aniruddha Babar, Director of Project Constitutional Justice - A People's Initiative, highlighted the potential of AI to bridge socio-economic divides in Eastern Nagaland. He outlined a strategic framework integrating legal safeguards, ethical AI governance, and inclusive policymaking to empower underserved communities.
However, he warned that AI expansion could exacerbate existing inequalities without robust governance mechanisms. The conference also connected AI-driven governance to the ongoing Frontier Nagaland Movement, emphasising technology as a pillar of justice and development for historically marginalised communities.
Key recommendations for AI use included targeted investment in digital infrastructure, AI-driven educational programs, and the creation of AI research hubs. The panel also discussed AI's ethical dilemmas, interdisciplinary applications and the need for multi-stakeholder collaboration.
