CM attends NE regional convention on child rights
Said children are foundation of society, safeguard them

AGARTALA, August 28, 2025: Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha Thursday attended the One-Day North Eastern Regional Convention on Child Rights at Prajna Bhavan in Agartala.
Addressing the programme, Dr Saha said that everyone must protect children as they are the future of the nation. He emphasised that children are the foundation of society and safeguarding their rights is not merely the responsibility of governments or institutions alone, but a collective duty of families, communities and society at large.
Highlighting initiatives taken in Tripura, the Chief Minister said that between 2022 and 2025 around 28 children found loving homes through legal adoption.
Social Welfare and Social Education Minister Tinku Roy, Chairperson of NCPCR Tripti Gurha, Secretary of Social Welfare and Social Education Department Tapas Roy and Director of Social Welfare and Social Education Department Tapan Kumar Das attend the event.
Chief Minister later took to social media to say that a child nurtured and protected today will become a responsible citizen of tomorrow. Investing in children is not less than investing in our collective future. Our government is committed to building a safe, nurturing and empowering environment for every child.
