Bharat Ko Jano Programme promoting unity, cultural diversity
Governors of Mizoram and Nagaland graced the colourful occasion

REGIONAL, October 23, 2024: A Bharat Ko Jano Programme promoting unity and cultural diversity was organized at the Joint YMA Playground of Vairengte, border town of Mizoram. The event was organised by the North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC) and the Art and Culture Department, Mizoram. Mizoram Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati and Nagaland Governor La Ganesan were the chief guest and special guest of honour respectively.
Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati thanked La Ganesan for initiating the Border Area Programme and Bharat Ko Jano in Vairengte. He highlighted the importance of people residing near the borders in upholding the values of peace and unity. He urged the gathering to participate in the Bharat Ko Jano campaign, emphasizing the need to learn and appreciate different cultures.
The Governor also mentioned India's goal to become a developed nation by 2047 and encouraged the utilization of Central Government Schemes.
La Ganesan reiterated the importance of unity, resilience, and cultural richness in the region. He emphasized the event's role in fostering unity and development in the North East. Dr Prashanna Gogoi, Director of NEZCC, delivered a welcome speech, and artists from Mizoram, Assam, Tripura and Bihar showcased cultural performances at the event.
The programme aimed to promote national awareness and pride in India's cultural heritage. The event was attended by various officials, including DC Kolasib Robert C Lalhmangaiha and Sr SP Kolasib David H Lalthangliana.
