Assam Rifles half marathon 2025 to be NE’s largest racing event

To have a record participation with a Rs 20 Lakh in prize money

REGIONAL, December 11, 2025:  Assam Rifles will host the 5th edition of its Half-Marathon in Shillong on December 14, 2025, marking it as the Northeast's largest racing event.

Anticipating record participation with over 3000 runners, the event includes three categories: 5 km, 10 km and 21 km welcoming ages 12 to 60+. Runners will compete on a scenic Upper Shillong route for a total prize of Rs 20 Lakh.

This marathon aims to promote wellness, fitness and unity encouraging nationwide participation to support Prime Minister Vision for a healthier India. Sponsors include Indian Oil Corporation Ltd, SBI, YES Bank, IDFC First Bank and TATA Advanced Systems.
