AGARTALA, December 04, 2025: The 35 Somsai Battalion (35 Assam Rifles) under the 21st Sector of the Assam Rifles recently organised a friendly volleyball match with local youths at K Tangkhul locality. This event served as a demonstration of the battalion's dedication to engaging with the youth and adopting cooperation with the community.

The match was a display of sportsmanship and skill with enthusiastic participation from both teams. Besides, to promote fitness, the Assam Rifles also distributed sports equipment to the local participants, encouraging ongoing sporting activities.

The community greatly appreciated these efforts and recognised the event's role in supporting youth development through sports. Overall, this initiative has strengthened community ties and reaffirmed a shared commitment to peace and progress in the region, the 21 Sector said in the readout.
