AGARTALA, November 25, 2025: The Annual LUXMI Football Tournament 2025, held across its Tripura and Cachar tea gardens, concluded on a high note with thrilling performances and exceptional sportsmanship displayed by all participating teams from the tea garden workforce. Organised to promote unity, discipline and a strong sporting culture among tea garden communities, the tournament received overwhelming support from players, spectators and local leaders.
The semi-final rounds witnessed electrifying football, with teams showcasing outstanding skill, coordination, and determination. After two intense contests, Sarojini Tea Estate and Urranaband Tea Estate secured their places in the grand finale, overcoming Kalishasan Tea Estate and Manu Valley Tea Estate respectively.
The highly anticipated final match, held on November 23, 2025, at the football ground of Golokpur Tea Estate, Tripura, drew a massive and enthusiastic crowd. In a gripping and closely fought battle, Sarojini Tea Estate emerged as the champion, clinching a 2–1 victory over Urranaband Tea Estate through a remarkable display of strategy, teamwork, and resilience.
Throughout the tournament, players demonstrated unwavering dedication, discipline, and a powerful sense of unity — reflecting the pride and sporting passion of the tea garden communities. The Luxmi Group remains committed to nurturing youth talent across its estates by providing opportunities for personal growth, skill development, and overall well-being.
Following the final whistle, trophies and medals were presented to the champions and runners-up, along with special awards including Best Player and Best Goalkeeper. Individual medals were also distributed to every player from both teams competing in the final.
The event was graced by Raghul A, IPS, (posted in Unakoti district) who attended as the Chief Guest of Honour and congratulated the players for their spirited performances, discipline, and exemplary conduct.
The LUXMI Football Tournament continues to inspire and encourage the youth of the tea garden communities by fostering physical fitness, teamwork, confidence, and constructive engagement. The tournament plays a vital role in shaping responsible, motivated, and confident young individuals while strengthening unity and reducing negative influences within the tea garden regions.
Looking ahead, the Grand Finale Match — featuring the champions of the Tripura–Cachar Zone against the champions of other Luxmi Group garden zones — is scheduled to be held in Upper Assam in March 2026 promising yet another exciting celebration of sporting excellence.
