AGARTALA: Tripura Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Dr Manik Saha Tuesday delivered a strong warning to the TIPRA Motha party during a TTAADC election rally in the Duski area of Teliamura in Khowai district stating that their attempts to cling to power through intimidation and violence will not be tolerated.
He criticised TIPRA Motha for publicly advocating for peace while simultaneously engaging in political violence and terrorising the public. The Chief Minister underscored the importance of maintaining peace established in the North-Eastern region especially under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's governance.
He pointed out that supporters affiliated with TIPRA Motha resorted to violence to obstruct the public's passage to the rally, with reports of shots being fired during these disturbances. Underlining the resilience of the people, he insisted that efforts to intimidate will fail and asserted the inevitability of BJP's victory in the elections slated for April 12.
Candidates and BJP leaders were in attendance at the election rally.
