CM visits BJP candidate injured in targeted attack
AGARTALA: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha Wednesday visited the home of Maji Debbarma, the BJP candidate for the TTAADC election from the Pekuajala-Janmejayanagar constituency, who sustained injuries during an attack by supporters of the Tipra Motha party. After attending an election rally in Takarjala in the Sepahijala district, the Chief Minister went to Debbarma's residence in Jarulbachai Padmamohan Para to check on his health condition and treatment.
During the visit, Dr Saha assured Debbarma and his family that those responsible for the attack would face legal consequences. He informed the newsmen that one attacker had already been apprehended while another accused remains at large.
The office of the Chief Minister said he was not present in the state during the incident but was kept updated via phone.
Dr Saha stressed the resilience of BJP workers, asserting that attempts to intimidate them through violence would not deter their efforts and that such actions are generally viewed unfavorably by the public.
