
AGARTALA: On the final day of campaigning for the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha addressed a public meeting in Bhangmun, North Tripura, in support of candidacy of Rabindra Reang from the Damchhara-Jampui constituency. He criticised the Tipra Motha party for misappropriating funds allocated for development of tribal community.
Dr Saha asserted that his party, the BJP, is contesting all 28 seats due to this corruption and stressed the need for a transparent administration in the TTAADC to enhance development in the TTAADC positioning the BJP as the people's only hope.
Chief Minister elaborated on the concept of 'Thansa', which he described as representing unity and harmony, alleging that the Tipra Motha misuses this term to deceive the electorate. Dr Saha explained that his administration is dedicated to solving the issues faced by Jampui hills contrasting it with the problems generated by the Tipra Motha party.
He highlighted the successful resolution of the Mizoram Bru-Reang refugee crisis under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership as an example of effective governance. He criticised Tipra Motha for its failure to execute any developmental projects despite having received significant funding over the past five years.
