AGARTALA, August 12, 2024: The BSF successfully foiled a major infiltration attempt by a group of around 12 to 15 Bangladeshi nationals at the Tripura border Monday. The incident took place in the Paharmura area of Khowai, where the group attempted to cross the international boundary during the day, taking advantage of bad weather and poor visibility.
However, the alert BSF troops on duty noticed their crossing and immediately challenged them. The group then attempted to forcefully negotiate the border fencing, but the BSF troops fired one round from a Pump Action Gun to prevent their infiltration.
As a result, the Bangladeshi nationals were forced to retreat back towards their territory. This successful prevention of infiltration was made possible due to the vigilance and quick response of the BSF troops.
BSF said in light of the ongoing unrest and law and order situation in Bangladesh, the BSF has increased surveillance and border control measures to ensure the safety and security of the border.
