The Wales, UK, made official partner for hornbill festival

REGIONAL, October 02, 2024: Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio visited Wales (UK) to sign an agreement designating Wales as a partner for the Hornbill Festival. This partnership aims to strengthen ties between the two countries as part of the Wales in India 2024 celebrations.
During his visit, Rio met with Welsh Government officials including the Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary. He also held discussions with the Minister for Culture, Skills and Social Partnership to explore potential opportunities for collaboration.
Rio expressed his gratitude for the partnership and highlighted the rich heritage of Nagaland, inviting Wales to experience the land of festivals during the 25th edition of Hornbill. The delegation also visited educational institutions in Wales to discuss opportunities for students from Nagaland to study and for musicians and artists to perform in Wales.
This partnership is expected to increase people-to-people contact and create opportunities for young people from both countries. British Council officials expressed their excitement for the collaboration and bringing Welsh artists and speakers to the festival to exchange ideas and showcase their work.
