14th edition of the Joint Military Exercise to boost friendship

GLOBAL, December 02, 2025: The 14th edition of the Joint Military Exercise EKUVERIN between the Indian Army and the Maldives National Defence Force began Tuesday in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Involving 45 personnel from the Indian Army's GARHWAL RIFLES and an equal number from the MNDF, this exercise boosts friendship and military cooperation.
Conducted alternately since 2009, it highlights India's Neighbourhood First Policy.
The two-week exercise focuses on enhancing interoperability in Counter-Insurgency and Counter-Terrorism operations with troops sharing best practices and conducting joint operational planning to address regional security challenges and promote stability in the Indian Ocean Region.
