Hong Kong: Jimmy Lai sentenced to 20 years in prison
SYDNEY (EORA): Media magnate founder Jimmy Lai was sentenced to 20 years in prison by Hong Kong’s High Court following his conviction in the city’s most prominent national security case.
The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) and many global forums strongly condemned the sentencing as a transparent act of political persecution and calls for the immediate and unconditional release of Lai and all journalists currently imprisoned in Hong Kong.
