Rupee falls to its lowest-ever level of 90.80 against USD

Forex traders cited demand for USD, risk-averse market

NATIONAL, December 15, 2025: The rupee fell to its lowest-ever level of 90.80 against the US dollar Monday ending at a new all-time low of 90.74 down 25 paise from the previous close.

This decline was caused by uncertainty over an India-US trade deal and ongoing foreign fund outflows. Reports said, Forex traders noted that a risk-averse market and strong demand for the US dollar from importers affected investor sentiment.

The rupee had also dropped to 90.49 Friday down 17 paise.
