Commemoration: Terrorist attack on Parliament 24 years ago

The nation paid homage to the slain security personnel and victims

NATIONAL, December 13, 2025: The nation Saturday paid homage to the security personnel and victims who died during the terrorist attack on Parliament 24 years ago. A condolence meeting was held at Parliament House in New Delhi where parliamentarians offered floral tributes.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and leaders from both the ruling and opposition parties also paid their respects. President Droupadi Murmu recognised the bravery and sacrifice of the heroes, while other leaders highlighted their valour as a symbol of India’s commitment to democratic values and national defence.

Several Union ministers and opposition leaders also participated in the tributes.
The attack on the Parliament on December 13, 2021, was carried out by Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists. Eight people, including six Delhi Police personnel, two Parliament Security Service personnel and a staff member were killed.

All five terrorists were killed in security operations.
