AGARTALA, December 13, 2025: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha addressed a rally and presided over a joining programme organised by the ruling BJP in Agartala Saturday. Speaking at the event, he charted the party's commitment to the people and contrasted it with the previous governance of CPI(M).
He remarked that the communists had exploited the Janajati community during their long rule, treating them merely as electoral tools.
Dr Saha welcomed 5,050 voters from 1,706 families into the BJP and asserted that the party aims to build a "New Tripura," inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of New India. He criticised the past violence and intimidation activities associated with the CPI(M) and claimed that the BJP offers a more peaceful and development-focused agenda.
The Chief Minister highlighted ongoing efforts to respect and uplift the Janajati population and noted the BJP's role as a reliable alternative amid the fluctuating political landscape. He called for unity among people who joined the BJP, urging them to trust the party for a stronger state.
Dr Saha also outlined political engagements related to upcoming elections to the TTAADC.
