Vice Chancellor Prof Prasain welcomes new entrants

AGARTALA, November 23 2021: Deeksharambh-Student Induction Programme (SIP) of Tripura University was conducted for the 1st semester students admitted for the session 2021. Prof Ganga Prasad Prasain, Vice Chancellor, welcomed all new entrants and expressed his pleasure over record number of admission for the Academic session.
He also motivated the students to become the responsible citizen of the country and help in nation building. He further added that the University is first in the region to start completely offline functioning which includes hostel and other facilities.
He also emphasised on the use of vast Library Resources of the University which can be matched with the best Higher Educational Institutes of the country. Academic Deans, Prof BK Datta and Prof Shyamal Das explained values and culture of the University.
Dr Deepak Sharma, Registrar, Tripura University introduced the need of SIP and objectives of the programme. Heads of various Departments familiarised students with facilities and services provided by them to other departments.
The programme covered sensitising students regarding examinations pattern library facilities, clubs, committees, cells and centres of the University. During the programme, freshers expressed their feelings and showcased their talents in the form of songs, poetry, speeches, and self-defence activities.
Programme ended with vote of thanks from Prof Sabyasachi Dasgupta, Dean, Students Welfare, Tripura University. About 1400 students attended the programme.
