REGIONAL, June 27, 2025: Rail services to Tripura, Mizoram, Manipur and parts of southern Assam have been suspended for the fifth consecutive day despite the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) claiming progress in restoring the Lumding-Badarpur hill section.
The suspension was due to unsafe tracks owing to improper road repair work by NHAI. Senior NFR officials visited the affected site to assess progress.
The railway is working on early restoration of services which were severely impacted by mudslides due to heavy rainfall.
Until restoration is complete, certain trains will be partially or fully cancelled, NFR officials confirmed.
