BNP Chief Zia, aged 79, has been facing severe health issues

GLOBAL, December 01, 2025: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi Monday expressed deep concern regarding the health of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, who has been a significant figure in Bangladesh politics for many years. In a post on X, Modi wished her a speedy recovery and offered India's medical support.

Khaleda Zia, aged 79, has been facing severe health issues, including arthritis, diabetes and multiple organ complications. She was recently admitted to a private hospital in Dhaka for treatment after being diagnosed with a chest infection.

He health condition remains critical.

Meanwhile the interim government of Bangladesh has been classified as a Very Very Important Person (VVIP), granting her potential security provisions under the Special Security Force law.

In another development a medical team from China has arrived in Dhaka Monday to assist in her treatment.
