For all-round economic growth post Covid-19 pandemic

KOHIMA, October 28 2021: The Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance, has launched pan India Credit Outreach camp from October 16 to 30 2021 with a view to boost credit which has become so essential for all-round economic growth post Covid-19 pandemic. Accordingly, the banks operating in the District of Kohima have launched campaign and could mobilized 460 beneficiaries for a total amount to Rs31.10 Cores.
A Credit Outreach Initiative Program was organized by Lead Bank Office at Kohima Thursday for handing over of sanctioned letters to the beneficiaries. The function was graced by Addl Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, N Bhavani, as chief guest. Almost all the banks operating in Kohima were represented by their senior officials. SLBC Nagaland was represented by its Coordinator, H Alpha Pou.
The programme commenced with a brief highlights of the purpose by Sosangmeren M, Lead District Manager, Kohima. While delivering welcome address on behalf of banks, Rajesh Kumar, Chief Manager, Bank of Baroda, Kohima also highlighted the importance of financial discipline. Thereafter Besii Bosco, Assistant General Manager, SBI, Kohima branch briefly highlighted the various schemes initiated by the Central Government viz: Pradhan mantra MUDRA Yojana, Stand Up India, Agri Infra Fund, PMEGP, ECLGS, Mudra yojana, PM SVANidhi, and other Atmanirbhar Bhrarat Schemes.
N Bhavani Sri, in her address, lauded the bankers for the impressive credit growth in the district in spite of the Covid-19 pandemic. She also informed that vaccination in Kohima district is showing a good progress which would enable free movement of people and thereby bring more business activities. She encouraged the member banks to help grow Agricultural economy. A good number of sanctioned letters were delivered from different banks by the Chief Guest during the function.
The function was concluded with a vote thanks by Rangshong Ping Levis, Assistant General Manager, IDBI Bank, Kohima.
