Mystery over ‘suicide’ of 3 Malayali tourists in Arunachal Pradesh

REGIONAL, April 03, 2024: Mystery surrounds the alleged suicide of three people, including two women, at a hotel in Arunachal Pradesh. The victims were residents of Kerala state.
The male victim had been reported missing from his home in Trivandrum, and his family had filed a missing person report. On March 28, they checked into a hotel in the Ziro locality of the northeastern state.
On April 1, the hotel staff broke into their room after not being able to communicate with them. Inside, they found all three guests dead with their wrists cut.
The deceased have been identified as Naveen Thomas (39), Arya B Nair (29), and Devi B (39). The Arunachal Pradesh police have confirmed that Naveen Thomas and Devi B were a married couple.
The local police, along with forensic experts, conducted a search of the room and collected evidence. The post-mortem was completed on Wednesday, and the bodies will be sent to their families in Kerala.
Three cases have been registered under section 174 of the CrPC at the local police station. Sub Inspector J Doye of the station has been assigned as the investigation officer.
