Manu Bhaker wins a medial in Paris Olympic, makes history

NATIONAL, July 28, 2024: Manu Bhaker, a female shooter, has made history by becoming the first Indian woman to win an Olympic medal. She won a bronze in the 10m Air Pistol event in France marking the country's first victory in the Games and ending a 12-year drought for its shooters.
Prime Minister Modi called her to congratulate for winning a medal for India.
The last time India won a shooting medal at the Olympics was in the 2012 London edition, where Vijay Kumar and Gagan Narang won silver and bronze respectively.
Bhaker, 22, from Jhajjar, Haryana, fought hard to secure the bronze with a score of 221.7.
She was disappointment after the Tokyo Olympics, but also her happiness with winning the medal in Paris.
