13 games held Wednesday in both men's and women's categories

AGARTALA, February 26, 2025: The Tripura women's police football team started their journey in the 73rd BN Mallick Memorial National Police Football Tournament with a defeat at home ground. Despite the men's team winning their match, the women's team faced a 6-0 loss against Tamil Nadu due to a lack of team spirit and poor finishing.

Coach Sandeep Das acknowledged the girls' efforts and believes they can improve in future matches. On the other hand, the Tripura men's team, who won 3-0 against Telangana, is now preparing faced Jharkhand Wednesday.

Other matches included Punjab Police defeating Telangana 3-0, Jammu and Kashmir beating Gujarat 3-1, and Kerala winning 8-0 against Madhya Pradesh.

The tournament consists of matches in five sub-divisions of Tripura with 13 games held Wednesday in both men's and women's categories.
