AGARTALA, November 24 2021: In a sudden turn of event, Kolkata city police have summoned Sanjay Mishra in connection with a case registered at a police station. The officer was asked to appear before the investigating officer of the case Soumit Bandopadhyay at Narkeldanga police station to face questioning Thursday – the day state will be holding municipal elections across the state.
Mishra responded to the notice served by Kolkata police and informed his inability to appear before the IO owing to municipal election exercise.
Kolkata police registered the case against Sanjay Mishra under disaster management act and several IPC sections. The appearance notice sent under Section 41A CrPC referred to a FIR registered at Narkeldanga police station of Kolkata in which he was made an accused.
The notice asserted that ‘it is revealed during investigation that there are reasonable grounds to question you (Mishra) to ascertain the fact and circumstances from you’.
Stunned and surprised over the police case, the OSD to the Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said he has not been in Kolkata for over two years and the registration of the case and its charges are fabricated, false and act of people with malicious mind.
