Former PM Manmohan Singh passes away Thursday evening
Singh was brought to the emergency department at around 8 pm

NATIONAL, December 26, 2024: Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh passed away Thursday evening soon after being admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi. He was 92 years old.
Singh was brought to the emergency department at around 8 pm. He served as the finance minister during the 1991-96 government led by PV Narasimha Rao.
Manmohan Singh was also the two-term Prime Minister of the UPA from 2004 to 2014 and was a member of the Rajya Sabha until earlier this year. His family members and Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra were at the hospital.
The President of India, Prime Minister Modi, Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, chief ministers and prominent citizens from across the country have expressed their condolences on his passing.
