AGARTALA, December 25, 2024: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha has praised the recent Plenary Session of the North Eastern Council (NEC) for its significant benefits to the state and other states in the region. The 72nd NEC meeting brought together Chief Ministers and Governors from Northeast states, gaining a better understanding of Tripura's natural resources, including bamboo, agar, roads and tourism, he said while addressing a media conference here Wednesday.
The meeting also saw the participation of bankers from across the country in the NESAC and the Bankers' Summit. The meeting also highlighted the need for a drug-free Northeast, emphasised the importance of inter-state coordination, and highlighted the development works of Tripura.
Dr Saha also criticised Congress for staging a drama using Dr BR Ambedkar's name to target the BJP, stating that Congress had never respected him and had never accorded him any national honours. He called for an apology from Congress for their actions, stating that the BJP values honouring people who have worked tirelessly for the country's development, while Congress remains preoccupied with family-centric politics.
