First Blood Collection & Transportation Van in launched
CM Dr Saha expressed eagerness to attend blood donation camps

AGARTALA, June 14, 2024: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha Friday launched a Blood Collection & Transportation Van (BCTV), the first of its kind in the state. He also inaugurated an event on World Blood Donor Day 2024 and a voluntary blood donation camp at Rabindra Satabarsiki Bhavan here.
Dr Saha expressed his eagerness to attend blood donation camps, stating that blood is a gift from God and that the state has set a target to keep 50,000 units of blood. He also mentioned that all social clubs, schools and colleges are participating in blood donation.
The state has 14 blood banks, 12 of which are government-run and two private. Dr. Saha flagged off a Blood Collection & Transportation Van, costing Rs 45 lakh, which allows two people to donate blood simultaneously. The vehicle will be deployed under Kulai District Hospital in Dhalai district.
He also urged around 1,100 registered social clubs to organise blood donation camps to prevent crises. Health & Family Welfare Secretary Kiran Gitte and Director of Health Services Dr. Sanjib Debbarma were present during the programmes.
