Fiji PM visits UIDAI headquarters; India demonstrates Aadhaar
Aadhaar forms foundation of India's digital public infrastructure

NATIONAL, August 26, 2025: Prime Minister of Fiji Sitiveni Ligamamada Rabuka Tuesday visited the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) headquarters in New Delhi. The visit was attended by UIDAI's Chief Executive Officer Bhuvnesh Kumar and senior officials from the Ministry of External Affairs and Electronics and IT.
The Prime Minister was briefed on India's digital identity system, Aadhaar, which forms the foundation of India's digital public infrastructure. Deputy Director General Vivek Chandra Verma and President and CEO of NeGD Nand Kumarum presented on Aadhaar and DigiLocker highlighting their role in empowering residents and enabling inclusive digital governance.
The delegation witnessed a live demonstration of the Aadhaar enrolment process, providing insights into India's digital ID ecosystem's ease, scale, efficiency and security. The visit reflects India's growing collaboration with Fiji in digital transformation and its commitment to sharing its expertise in digital public infrastructure with global partners.
