Ajay Kumar Bhalla sworn in as the 22nd governor

REGIONAL, August 25, 2025: Ajay Kumar Bhalla was sworn-in today as the 22nd Governor of Nagaland in a swearing-in ceremony held at Kohima, Raj Bhavan Monday.

The oath of office was administered by Chief Justice Ashutosh Kumar in the presence of the Chief Minister Dr Neiphiu Rio and his Cabinet, Members of Parliament, advisors, MLAs and senior civil, police and military officials from both central and state government, members of civil societies of Nagaland.

Meanwhile, the new Governor was also accorded the Rastriya Salute by the Nagaland Police Mahilla (IR) Contingents at Raj Bhavan. Chief Secretary of Nagaland Sentiyanger Imchen conducted the swearing-in ceremony.
