Flight of Assam CM makes emergency landing at Agartala

Plane was diverted due to turbulent weather in the Guwahati air route

AGARTALA, August 24, 2025: The flight carrying Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma made an emergency landing at Agartala's MBB Airport Sunday. It is reported that the Chief Minister was returning to Guwahati from Delhi when the flight was diverted due to turbulent weather in the Guwahati air route. 

Upon hearing of incident, Tripura Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury and West Tripura District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar rushed to the MBB Airport to meet with the Chief Minister. 

After spending approximately 30 minutes at the MBB Airport, the Assam Chief Minister's flight was able to secure clearance and continue on to its destination.
