NATIONAL, July 222, 2025: India is sending a team of specialist doctors, nurses and equipment to assist burn victims injured in the Dhaka fighter jet crash that left at least 29 dead, mostly school children, and over a hundred injured.
The move, the first positive communication between the two neighbors since the ouster of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on August 5 last year, was finalised during discussions between the two countries' foreign ministries, international media reported.
Two specialist doctors with experience in burn treatment are expected to arrive in Dhaka, along with a small team of nurses. Medical equipment is being sent and more doctors will be deployed as needed, Indian EAM officials reportedly said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi earlier expressed solidarity with Bangladesh over the horrible fighter plane crash into a school building Monday and offered support and assistance.
The two governments are in contact through the Indian High Commission in Dhaka.
