AGARTALA, March 07, 2025: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha Friday explained the need to strengthen the Panchayat system in the state aiming to ensure sustainable development of every Panchayat in the coming days. He spoke at the inauguration of the state-level One-Day Programme on Ceremonial Distribution of 475 Computers and the Award Distribution Programme for the Best Performers of the National Panchayat Awards here.

Dr Saha highlighted the Panchayat Development Index stating that Tripura has reached the highest level in three areas - a collective honour earned through teamwork. He urged public representatives to work with more innovative ideas for the development of their respective Panchayats.  

The Chief Minister asserted the necessity for initiatives to build ideal Panchayats through solar power, smart Panchayat formation, groundwater level enhancement and proper disposal of solid and liquid waste. He also stated that Tripura is the only state in India where e-governance has been implemented at the three-tier Panchayat level strengthening Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of Digital India.

Dr Saha concluded that Clean Panchayat is the core foundation of the state and everyone is working towards this goal.
