AGARTALA, June 22 2022: The National Centre for Disease Control has awarded Tripura for its outstanding response during Covid-19 pandemic. The state was specifically chosen for implementation of Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme.

The award was handed at the national review meet in New Delhi.

Former Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, who was holding the health portfolio during his stint of four and half years, congratulated the ‘entire health fraternity for their earnest efforts during Covid-19’.

Integrated Disease Surveillance Project was launched by Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare in November 2004. The project continues in the 12th Plan with domestic budget as Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme under NHM for all States with Budgetary allocation of Rs 640 Crore.
