Disaster averted: Agartala bound train catches fire

AGARTALA, July 27, 2024: A major disaster was averted thanks to the timely intervention of emergency staff after a passenger train caught fire in Tripura Saturday. Officials said the fire broke out in the AC coach of the Silchar-Agartala passenger train while it was en route to Agartala station upon reaching the Jogendranagar station.
In a state of panic, several passengers jumped out of the coach in an attempt to save their lives. Fortunately, the fire was quickly brought under control and no casualties were reported.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Once the train received clearance, it continued on its journey to Agartala station.
