Assam Rifles seizes drugs with estimated value of Rs 16 crore

AGARTALA, November 24, 2024: The Assam Rifles Sunday announced a significant seizure of narcotics in Tripura, but failed to mention any arrests made in connection with the incident. The paramilitary force said the seized drugs have an estimated value of Rs 16 crore. 

In a statement the Assam Rifles reported that their troops in collaboration with the customs department conducted a joint operation in Badharghat, Teliamura, in the Khowai district of Tripura. It further stated that they confiscated 1000 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine also known as ICE in the international market with an estimated value of Rs 16 crore.

The seized substance was then handed over to the Customs department.
