NIA launches probe into recent violent incidents in Manipur
MHA directed it to take up 3 cases that fuelled recent spurt

NATIONAL, November 26, 2024: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has launched a thorough investigation into three major cases related to recent violence in Manipur. The agency re-registered three cases following the Union Ministry of Home Affairs' directive to bring the culprits to book.
The first case involved the burning of several houses and killing two civilians, followed by the abduction and murder of six people, including three women and three children.
The second case involved an attack on a CRPF post and Borobekra police station, Jiribam, by armed militants registered at Borobekra police station. A CRPF constable sustained bullet injuries in the attack and was evacuated to Silchar for medical treatment.
During a search, dead bodies of unidentified armed militants, arms, and ammunition were recovered from the vicinity of the attack.
The third case involved the murder of a woman at Jiribram by armed militants. The NIA teams visited the spots on November 21 and 22 2024 and are currently handing over case documents from local police to NIA.
