Annpurna Devi joins the 69th Session of UNCSW in New York

NATIONAL, March 11, 2025: A delegation from the Government of India led by Annpurna Devi, Union Minister for Women and Child Development, took part in the 69th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women at the United Nations in New York starting on March 10. During the session, Devi presented India’s statement at the Ministerial Forum focusing on the review and appraisal of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action on its 30th anniversary.
She reaffirmed India's commitment to empowering and protecting women and children, highlighting progress in gender equality across 12 critical areas. Devi noted the positive impact of government schemes on health, nutrition, education and economic opportunities.
She stressed the importance of access to rights for women and girls and outlined a vision of a supportive environment for women and children. The session included participation from various UN member states and organisations.
