16th finance commission team in northeast India

Will attend a series of meetings with various stakeholders

REGIONAL, November 04, 2024: A team of the 16th Finance Commission consisting of Dr Arvind Panagariya (Chairman), Ajay Narayan Jha (Member), Annie George Mathew (Member) and Dr Manoj Panda (Member) arrived in Dimapur enroute Nagaland capital Kohima Monday.

They were received by Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton and other officials at Dimapur Airport. The team is on a three-day visit to Nagaland and accompanied by a group of officials from the Finance Commission.

Nagaland Chief Secretary Dr J Alam extends a warm welcome to the delegates upon their arrival at Hotel Vivor in Kohima.

The 16th Finance Commission will attend a series of meetings with the State Government and various other stakeholders Tuesday. On November 6, the team will make field visits to various sites of historical importance in and around the Kohima.

The Finance Commission is expected to visit other states in the region.
