CM urges next generation to develop habit of reading books
Said important parents take responsibility to encourage reading habits

AGARTALA, January 02, 2025: Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha Thursday urged the next generation to develop habit of reading books asserting that books expand the boundaries of consciousness and provide self-satisfaction. He said it is important that parents take more responsibility in encouraging reading habits.
Dr Saha was speaking after inaugurating the 43rd Agartala Book Fair, which will continue until January 14, where he highlighted the eagerness of the people to attend the fair. He highlighted that book fairs are organised annually under the government's patronage and are a festival of intellect and contemplation.
The fair will continue with free bus services for everyone to attend. The number of books sold at the Agartala Book Fair is increasing and the number of publishers, sellers and stalls is also rising, Chief Minister said.
The fair is growing day by day and arrangements have been made for the release of new books, discussion meetings, quizzes, poet conferences and more. Dr Saha urged everyone to read books and enhance their knowledge.
He also launched the book fair souvenir and the themed collection of Bengali and Kokborok reflecting the main theme of the book fair.
