Tripura assembly budget session begins on March 13
AGARTALA: The Budget Session of Tripura Assembly is scheduled to commence on March 13 and conclude on March 25. The session, called by Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu, will begin with his address on the opening day followed by a tribute to the late Assembly Speaker Biswabandhu Sen leading to an adjournment for that day.
Finance Minister Pranajit Singh Roy is slated to present the budget for the financial year 2026-27 and a revised budget for 2025-26 on March 16.
The day after the budget presentation, three significant bills will be introduced: the Tripura University of Health Sciences Bill, targeting the establishment of a medical university, along with the Technical University Bill and the Women's University Bill. Discussions on the Governor's address will take place over the next two days. The Leader of the Opposition will address concerning the budget on March 19.
In-depth discussions on the budget are planned for March 20, 23, and 24 culminating in the passing of the budget on the final day of the session on March 25. The schedule has been agreed upon by all members of the Business Advisory Committee allocating nine sitting days to discuss and debate important issues during this session.
