REGIONAL: Speaker and peace activist Niketu Iralu Friday addressed the 43rd Angami Gazetted Officers’ Krotho (AGOK) general conference underlining the looming crises faced by the Nagas that reflect broader global issues. He urged the community to adapt and respond effectively to these challenges through collective efforts and new strategies.

Iralu highlighted a shift in focus from traditional discussions to innovative planning aimed at enabling societal progress despite the unprecedented crises.

The President of the APO, Thejao Vihienuo, recognised AGOK's strategic efforts for public welfare and the importance of protecting the environment in a rapidly changing society influenced by artificial intelligence and robotics. He called on leaders and intellectuals to prioritize the future of youth, describing children as the community's most valuable asset.

Vihienuo urged AGOK as a key opinion-maker to collaborate with the APO for the benefit of the population.

During the conference, general secretaries Nongozo Rikha and Medoseho Sothu presented reports on activities and audits for the 2024 to 2026 periods, respectively. The conference also decided to extend the terms of the existing members until 2028.
