BSF apprehends one minor with 800 aba tablets

Agartala, May 12, 2019: BSF troops of Border Out Post Rayermura during routine duties at Indo-Bangladesh Border Fence gate observed suspicious movement of one boy holding a bag near border road junction of Fultoli village.
The troops detained the boy and during search of his bag they found 800 Yaba tablets kept inside. The contraband would fetch Rs.4,00,000 in the market.
During questioning the boy revealed his identity as Sahil Bhuiya, 14, of Matinagar village (located ahead of Indo-Bangladesh Border Fence) in Amtali police station limit near Agartala.
Seized items along with the apprehended boy handed over to Amtali police station.
In a statement BSF said that it has been making all-out efforts to prevent all types of Trans-border crimeson the International Border, especially smuggling of Narcotics to make “Tripura - a Drug Free State”.
Of late, smugglers have started exploiting teenagers and women folks for smuggling of Yaba tablets and other drugs, which is a matter of grave concern.
The statement added that there is a requirement of participation of every walk of the society to create awareness about the Narcotic drugs among general public and help Security Forces in curbing the menace.
