REGIONAL, May 14, 2024: Yuva Vikash Kendra (YVK) signed a significant agreement with the Mukul Madhav Foundation and the FICCI FLO (Federation of India Chamber of Commerce and Industry Female Organisation) North East Chapter to empower 250 women in Assam within a year. This marks YVK's first expansion of activities outside of Tripura.
The agreement signing ceremony was attended by Shweta Jindal, Chairperson of FICCI FLO North East Chapter, along with members of the FLO team, Bablu from the Mukul Madhav Foundation and Debashis Majumder, President of YUVA VIKASH KENDRA.
Pinku Das, Trustee of YVK, Sujoy Majumder, Digital Programme Coordinator of YVK, and Smriti Rekha Chetia, Programme Coordinator of YVK Assam, were also present. This collaborative effort aims to equip women with essential skills to enhance their livelihood opportunities.
YVK will initially conduct six mushroom cultivation training programs across Nalbari and Kamrup districts in Assam.
Debashis Majumder, President of Yuva Vikash Kendra, stated, "We are thrilled to embark on this journey of empowering women in Assam. This collaboration will equip them with valuable skills and knowledge to achieve financial independence." Shweta Jindal, Chairperson of FICCI FLO North East Chapter, added, "FICCI FLO is proud to support YVK's commendable initiative. We believe this program will empower women and contribute to the economic development of the region."
Local women in Nalbari expressed immense enthusiasm upon learning about the training program being offered in their area. They extended their gratitude to YVK and the donor agency for this initiative, acknowledging its potential to significantly improve their income and overall well-being.
