Vivekananda Vichar Manch stages stir in Agartala

AGARTALA, August 20 2021: Vivekananda Vichar Manch, a social organisation engaged in spreading thoughts of Swami Vivekananda in Tripura, held a protest rally here Friday to condemn physical attack on a functionary of the Ramakrishna Mission in West Bengal. Criminals owing allegiance to the Trinamool Congress were blamed for the assault on the monk Thursday.
The criminals who broke into the Ashram of the monk who was fasting in abidance of a ritual tied to force him drink alcohol, the organisation alleged. It further claimed that the attackers physically roughed up and humiliated him.
The Monk reportedly begged to save dear life with folded hands as to get rid of atrocious gang of criminals.
Vivekananda Vichar Manch demanded immediate arrest of the culprits. It has also threatened to resort to further protests if the West Bengal government led by Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee stays away from taking lawful action in the incident.
