Virtual meeting of the High Level Task Force on NE Tourism held

CM Dr Saha stressed on tourism expansion to generate job and revenue

AGARTALA, October 27, 2025: A meeting of the High Level Task Force with Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha in attendance was held at the Tripura Institution for Transformation office Monday to promote tourism in the North Eastern states. The virtual meeting was presided over by the Minister of the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DONER) Jyotiraditya Scindia.

Union Minister for Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Chief Minister of Meghalaya Conrad Sangma, Chief Minister of Sikkim Prem Singh Tamang and other North Eastern state chief ministers participated in the meeting.

It presented a draft report on the development of tourism in the North Eastern states highlighting significant progress in Tripura's tourism industry.

Chief Minister Dr Saha highlighted the potential of tourism to generate employment and revenue, underlining the need for cultural and religious tourism, improve communication infrastructure, enhance investment and ensure tourist safety and hospitality.
