NATIONAL, July 16, 2024: Kerala's elephants at Vadakkumnatha Kshethram were recently treated to a taste of royalty with the introduction of Tripura's GI-tagged Queen pineapples. As a major pineapple-producing state, Tripura accounts for 8.5% of India's total crop. The revered elephants, known for their role in grand festivities have now been introduced to Tripura's Queen Pineapples as a token of respect and care.
This collaboration is expected to bring national recognition to the unique flavour and exceptional quality of the Queen Pineapple. The true victory lies in the potential for increased income and exports for Tripura's farmers who are now confident in expanding their market to Kerala, South India and even West Asia.
